U13 Meteors Kick off with a comeback victory...

U13s Wigan West.

Appley Bridge 3 vs 6 Leigh Genesis U13 Meteors.

The lads started the game very slow conceding 2 early goals.
After getting back into the game, Calib Smith went on a run down the right wing. Cutting inside players to the edge of the box, he hit a screamer into the top corner.
A few minutes after Appley Bridge scored again to make it 3-1.
We responded with some good passing play, working the ball into the box with Ryan Hurst loosing his maker and scoring his first goal of the game. Taking us into half-time 3-2 down.

We started the 2nd half completely opposite to the 1st half. On the front from the whistle. Some more great passing earning 1v1's with the keeper. Unfortunately shooting wide or hitting the woodwork.
Calib now playing on the left wing, hit a shot from outside and wide of the box into the top corner again.
At 3-3 you could the lads lift and knew they only had 1 thing on their minds now.
Into the last 10mins of the game Calib scored a carbon copy of his 2nd goal, to complete his hattrick.
At the 4-3 the lads had no intentions of sitting back on the lead.
Cailb this time turned provider, crossing for Harvey Barrow to score at the far post.
Ryan finished off the scoring beating the defense for pace and rushing onto a through ball, with a perfectly placed shot leaving the keeper no change.
Josh Ryan had to stay alert in goal for the last few minutes. Making a big diving save and showing strong hands to palm a high shot onto the crossbar and recover quick to catch the rebond.
A great team performance seeing full back Thomas White picking up the MOM award.
