SEASON TO BUILD ON FOR THE OPEN AGE WOMEN…

In their inaugural season Leigh Genesis Women have a lot to be proud of. Being placed in division 2 of the Greater Manchester Women's League after a season of U18 Football there has been many ups and downs but the combined team of players, supporters and team officials galvanised brilliantly to ensure the team competed throughout the season.

Highlights of our season were:

* Seeing the women's team get their first
victory in only their 2nd game at open age football.
*watching the team progress throughout the season as Individual players and as a team and becoming comfortable with play in the open age game.
*The second half of the season saw us running teams at the top end of the table close which fills us with great confidence going into next season!

With this success in mind we are now preparing for the new 2023/24 season with club officials doing the work of affiliation, insurances, league applications and other admin tasks to support our application for
division 2 once more. Training will continue to keep the players in shape & working on improvements before we have a short break so we can all have some reset time.

On our return we will embark on a pre season programme of training and matches so that we hit the road running for the league start date in
early September"
