7 players turned up early and ready to play, a shooting warm up game quickly identified the boys were hungry for goals.
With two brand new players coach Marks pre match team talk around the tactics board went right back to basics starting with “remember boys always play forward”, the talk quickly developed into team tactics and player positions.
The Lions made an impressive start scoring two goals with in three minutes of the kick-off. A few words of encouragement from the side lines and the Solar’s were off.
A flurry of goals followed and the Solar’s dominated the play, pressing hard attacking down the wings and feeding the centre forward to create opportunity after opportunity.
The Lions never gave up causing the Solar’s problems down the centre of the pitch and scoring a handful of well deserved goals, but in the end it was the speed, skills and desire to play that won through for the Solar’s.

On what was a cold crisp Saturday morning the sun wasn’t the only thing to shine bright.
