its a team effort!

Leigh Genesis are delighted to share with you our feedback from Simon Gerrard the CEO at Lancashire FA after his visit to the club on 12/1/24. We are sure you will appreciate club Officials, Team Officials & everyone helping to effectively operate a substantial Community Club work extremely hard week in week out, However, here is the reward. A message from our governing body that a lot of what we all do is very good and noted. Goes a long way to
make it all worthwhile. A massive team effort. Well done everyone and thank you!

Simon Gerrard had this feedback:

Thanks for hosting me at the weekend it was fantastic to see the club in
action I know these safeguarding visits can seem a little bit formal but
they are necessary as I explained. I was only supposed to have been
there for one hour however I could not leave as I got caught up with the
buzz and was really enjoying watching the games and speaking to people.

My feedback for what it is worth is that through the whole visit, I got
a real sense and feel of how the club has embedded safeguarding and
putting young people first and that was evident from speaking to you
Andy, your passion for providing the right opportunities for young
people and ensure that they are safeguarded was really felt.

All the parents that I spoke to could not have been more complimentary
about how the club was run and how they have no concerns whatsoever
about the safeguarding of young people.

Whilst I know the coaches knew I was coming all of them were friendly
and knowledgeable about what to do if there are any concerns around
safeguarding and understand the real importance of qualifications and
training that need to be undertaken. In addition, the way in which they
engage with young people is brilliant they enthuse, inspire, and teach
the players which as a coach no matter what level is key.

I loved the use of What's app group and that welfare offices across the
club are on each group and look at the communication, if I could provide
one suggestion that is around your news bulletin to parents and coaches
and reinforce regularly who the contacts are if you have a concern, what
to do if you have concern and the polices such as the whistle blowing
policy etc.

I really enjoyed my visit I could have spent all day there the setup you
have developed with the coaches, the way the club is run and the
facilities are fantastic and if we could warp your model up and run this
across the county football would be an in and even better place.

Hope to see you soon

Regards

Simon
