Lowton High School and Leigh Genesis FC are delighted to announce the opening of their brand new 3g Muga Pitch.
The venue, an ex-tennis court, which had suffered moss, shrubbery and platform damage, has been refurbished to an exceptional standard.

The tender exercise was conducted on behalf of Lowton High School by Wigan Council and awarded to Fosse Contracts.

Wigan Council cleared overgrown shrubbery and Dawn Fencing part upgraded essential fencing areas.

The cost of the project has been paid out of Leigh Genesis Club funds so that Lowton High School has access to a quality 3G for PE lessons and the Club has exclusive use each mid week evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.

The pitch markings are set out for 5v5 sized football games but the surface gives rise to multi use games or activities.

The School and Club have agreed strict rules on usage so to protect the surface from excessive wear, control maintenance costs and to ensure the carpet is kept serviceable for the expected lifetime of the surface.

Leigh Genesis hopes this will give many of our teams a better footballing experience and allow them to enjoy football with good facilities...
